  • New Money by Tope Oshin: New Money does not have an out of the box trailer but it looks like a good film. Tope Oshin directs the feature about Toun, a young girl coming to terms with sudden wealth. We follow her journey as she tries to successfully grapple her newfound wealth, as well as juggle love and life. “New Money” sounds fresh for a Nollywood offering and going by Tope’s filmography, the film should be exciting. “New Money” stars Jemima Osunde, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Wale Ojo, Blossom Chukwujekwu and Kate Henshaw. It will be released on the 23rd of March

  • Mummy Dearest: The Wedding: This features Liz Ameye (Formerly known as Liz Benson). The trailer picks on a son’s attachment to his mother and how it complicates his relationship with his fiancée. The direction of the story looks good and it is a way of creating a twist to the overburdened wedding narratives. Other actors that feature in this are Daniel K. Daniel, Uti Nwachukwu, and Mary Lazarus“Mummy Dearest: The Wedding” is set to debut on March 9, 2018.

  • Disguise: Disguise is currently showing in select cinemas and has been making the news for its gender switch narrative. While the trailer is nothing to draw us to the cinema, it manages to include eye-popping scenes. Also, it will be interesting to see how the makeup and technical aspects of this film do the narrative some justice Disguise features Nancy Isime, IK Ogbonna, Toyin Abraham, and Wole Ojo. Other films that you might be interested in are “Crushed” by Lancelot Imaseun Oduwa and “Wetin Women Want” by Seun Oluketuyi.  Have some fun with Nigerian films in March!
