Theatre & Film Scholars Deconstruct Evolving Paradigms
Prof. Haynes reexamined the assumption of Nollywood being the second largest producers of films in the world in terms of output. He said that the report by the American Bureau of Statistics, which made that declaration in 2009, was not conclusive, considering that Japan and China make more money than Nigeria through films. He also disputed the percentage attributed to the industry in Nigeria’s economic rebasing, hinting that it could have been inflated.
