Africa Magic Films, Golden Effects Pictures and the Lagos State Government celebrate Lagos @ 50 with Kunle Afolayan’s chilling psychological thriller “Roti”.
Roti is the second of three movies produced by Golden Effect Pictures in conjunction with Africa Magic Films. The first, ‘Omugwo’ is currently showing at the cinemas and has been applauded by fans and critics for its cultural relevance and humour.
Unlike Omugwo, ‘Roti’ is a delicate and emotional film that explores the concept of re-incarnation. The life of a couple is thrown into chaos when years after losing their son – Roti, to a brief illness, the wife, Diane, suddenly sees an exact replica of her dead son (named Juwon) walking leisurely home from a different school and living an entirely different life. The emotional ramifications of this experience become near damning…
